Is The Lantern of the Laughless Saint playable on Steam Deck?

The research behind this launch site found a NerveLabs developer response in the Steam Community saying that the game runs well on Steam Deck and will continue receiving optimization work. That is encouraging, but it is not the same as a permanent performance guarantee or a fixed settings guide.

The official Steam page currently lists Windows PC system requirements. It does not provide a separate, detailed Steam Deck performance profile in the launch information reviewed here.

Why should you treat compatibility as a moving target?

The game entered Early Access on August 17, 2026. NerveLabs says it plans updates every one to two weeks and is continuing to improve performance and polish. A setting that feels good on one build may need revisiting after an update.

When deciding whether to play on Deck, check the latest Steam Community discussion, recent player reports, and the build date. Avoid copying an old recommendation without a version number.

What should a useful Steam Deck report include?

Record the game version, the Deck model, the chosen display and performance settings, the gameplay area, and whether you were playing solo or co-op. A useful report also distinguishes between launching successfully, stable play, controller behavior, text readability, and battery life.
